Linda Cato is an artist and visual arts specialist in Tucson, Az. She currently teaches at Imago Dei Middle School, a tuition-free private school serving economically disadvantaged students in the belief that quality education is the right of all people. Linda received her BFA from the University of Arizona, continued her graduate studies there in Language, Reading and Culture, and has a background in Montessori and Reggio Emilia education methods. She is developing and teaching a curriculum that explores issues related to social, economic, and environmental justice through collaborative creative work and visual inquiry. In 2009, she was nominated for the Governor's Award for Excellence in Arts Education, and the same year facilitated a sustainable architectural design project with her students which earned them the national first place award in the School of the Future Design Competition. |
